Kayaking, Canoeing and Rafting
Whitewater kayaking involves taking a kayak down rapids. Sea kayaking, also referred to as Ocean Kayaking or Touring, involves taking kayaks out on to the ocean or other open water e.g., a lake.
When exactly a canoe can be called a kayak is difficult to determine though, and often arbitrary. Internationally, the term canoeing is used as a generic term for both forms though the terms "paddle sports" or "canoe/kayak" are also used.
Rafting or white water rafting is a challenging recreational activity using an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water.
