Web Directories
A web directory lists by category or topic various web sites on the web. Directories come in many forms from the aged grand-daddy of them all - DMOZ or Open Directory Project, which lists millions of sites - to the smallest niche directory listing hundreds only. While most directories are general in nature and list all types of sites there is a growing trend for niche directories dedicated to the single type of web site.
They also vary in quality and standards, some accept free or paid listings by other websites themselves, some source their own listings and some do a combination. This section lists only the very best directories.
